adidas NYC Urban Run

I will not be leading the fast guys on this Monday's evening run (7/2). Don't despair. Warren will be there to tend to your needs and lead the group. Give him respect and don't misbehave! I am going to spy on our comrades leading the adidas NYC Urban Run along the West Side Highway/Hudson River Pathway and Chelsea Pier.

Have fun this weekend and keep training!

*Also DSE Runners is hosting the Lake Merced 4.5 mile run this Sunday (7/1). Go to www.dserunners.com for more details.

DSE Races

The Conservatory 5K was held on Sunday and we had a huge turnout of about 150+ runners take on the Golden Gate Park course. I had so much fun being race director as it was a picture perfect day with low humidity and temperature hovering in the low 60s. Grant Johnson easily took 1st place with an unofficial time of 17:06. Go to www.dserunners.com for upcoming races this season. The DSE Sunday races are a great way to incorporate speedwork into your training and a great way to get faster as well as meeting other runners in the community. Race fees are $3 for members and $5 for non-members.

The next DSE race is our flagship race, the Double Dipsea!!! It is this Saturday, June 23 at 8AM. For more information and online registration, go to www.doubledipsea.com There are ample aid stations, sponge stations, post-race refreshments and post-race souvenirs. Registration is capped at 450 runners, so register soon!

** Scroll to the following post for the adidas SF Monday (6/18) evening run.

Monday, June 4, 2007

This Monday’s run is a hilly but very scenic route up Telegraph Hill. Because I used to love reading those “Choose Your Own Adventure” books as a kid, you also have a choice of going down either the Greenwich Street steps or Filbert Street steps (as seen in “The Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill”). From then on to the finish, it’s flat along the Embarcadero and Market Street.

ROUTE – Telegraph Hill – Choose Your Adventure ~ 4 miles

-Start at the adidas Sport Performance store
-UP, UP and down, down Powell Street
-Left on Green Street
-Right on Taylor Street
-Right on Lombard Street
-Around Telegraph Hill
-Either down the Greenwich Street steps or Filbert Steps
-BOTH make a left on Battery Street
-Right on Embarcadero
-Right on Market
-Finish at adidas Sport Performance store

Also, from what I understand Jimmy is running the San Diego Rock and Roll Marathon. Good luck and we want your race report!
