Bananas, NYC Marathon, and Pictures!

Hey Everyone,

On Monday, I discussed the importance of bananas (in addition to other carbohydrate-rich fruits and nutrient dense vegetables) in aiding muscle recovery by 20% to some of you. I couldn't find the source, but I do remember seeing it on either Runner's World or Running Times. I find that just eating a banana is not sufficient for a long run, but it is the perfect food with a cup of Gatorade or water 10 minutes before a hard tempo run or track workout. It provides essential energy without any fat to bog you down. Anyway, here's a link that explains the wonders of the banana, propaganda from Chiquita: Banana Facts
